Services I Offer

A note on pricing:

As an author myself, I know editing is expensive and pricing can be confusing. I enjoy what I do, and I try to be as affordable as possible while still respecting my time. My goal is to be accessible and transparent about what I offer and how much it will cost.

In accordance with that goal, I have created a simple pricing structure and list my prices up front.

Proofreading

For self-publishing authors, this is the final step before publishing. Once your manuscript has been edited (either professionally or self-edited) for flow, inconsistencies, word choice, etc., we will go over it for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.

Pricing is based on the length of the manuscript.

We charge $0.016 per word. For clarity, that works out to the following:

Short story: 10,000 words: $160

Manuscript that is 40,000 words: $640

Manuscript that is 80,000 words: $1280

Manuscript that is 100,000 words: $1600

Publication

Once your manuscript is edited, formatted, and ready to go, we will help you through all of the steps of publication.

This includes coordinating with your cover designer (if requested), helping you set up and link accounts on your publishing platforms of choice (KDP, IngramSpark, etc.) and setting up an author website or linking to an existing one.

At the end, you will have a published book.

Pricing:

Base rate: $200

With website creation: $400

(Cover design not included in price, but we will help you work with a cover designer of your choice.)

Combine with our formatting service and get 10% off the combined services.

Formatting

We will format your book for publication, providing you with a PDF and epub for publishing on major publishing platforms such as IngramSpark and KDP. We allow for unlimited revisions. We will work on it until it is right.

Pricing is based on the length of the manuscript. For formatting, we charge $0.008 per word.

Pricing examples:

Manuscript that is 40,000 words: $320

Manuscript that is 80,000 words: $640

Complete Publishing Package

This includes proofreading, formatting, and publishing services. We will generate a publish-ready manuscript, support your work with your cover designer, walk you through setting up all of your accounts, website, etc. Together we will take your manuscript completely from a word document to a published book.

Pricing is based on the length of the manuscript. For this service, we combine the cost of all three services and apply a 10% discount. (Cover design not included in price, but we will help you work with a cover designer of your choice.)

Price examples:

Manuscript that is 40,000 words: $1144 (without website creation)

Manuscript that is 80,000 words: $1908 (without website creation)

Manuscript that is 100,000 words: $2340 (without website creation)

How it works:

If you’re interested in working with me, you may request a sample edit (up to 1,000 words) to see how I work. We will also talk about your goals for the project and if you have any specific concerns. I work in Microsoft Word (preferred) or Google Docs. I will do my best to adapt to your needs.

I will put a lot of time and care into your manuscript and treat it as I would treat my own. I truly want to see your work succeed.

Human expression is at the heart of what I do, and therefore I do not accept work written with Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) or use Gen AI in my process.

To contact me for a sample edit or to talk about your editing/publishing needs, email me at moonsetbooks@gmail.com

Testimonials

“Draft after draft, I keep referring back to the same comments Liz has critiqued in my work, and there is always something that sets off a lightbulb in my head to improve. She is incredibly patient, detailed and passionate about her critiques. Her comments are straight to the point, with a perfect balance of encouragement and positivity. Thanks to her I’ve managed to push myself to overcome my lack of confidence in my writing. I am so grateful for her help!”

Nessa Assara

“Liz was a life saver when it came to publishing my debut urban fantasy novel. I really appreciate the thought and detail she put into the line edits for my manuscript, as well as her extensive knowledge of grammar (not to mention her patience in explaining grammar techniques to me!). I look forward to working on many more books with Liz in the future!”
